Summary/Abstract: The article aims to analyze the works written by the French writer Emmanuel Carrèrefrom the perspective of the sociology of literature – what will be focused on are thecontexts of those of his works in which the issues of love appear. The article consists ofthree parts. In the first one, love will be treated as a part of sociological subject matter.The second will pertain to the relation between literature and sociology. In the thirdpart, a reconstruction of the discourse on love in Emmanuel Carrère’s works will bepresented.
