Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to examine some of the sentences contained in the microstructure of Polish-German and German-Polish dictionaries in terms of gender stereotypes. Two large dictionaries were selected for analysis: Wielki słownik by Jan Piprek and Juliusz Ippoldt and PWN’s Wielki słownik. The research provided the basis for an attempt to answer the question whether there are differences in the way women and men were presented in the 1970s and the way they are presented in the first decade of the 21st century.
