Summary/Abstract: Based on ethnological fieldwork, the author presents the fashion of Lomwe women and their methods of body and hair care. Focusing on beauty in the physical dimension (clothing, care, make-up, other temporary and permanent body modifications as, for instance, scarifications or labia minora elongation), she triesto answer the question of what the category of beauty in the Lomwe world is. Shepoints out, among others, the issues related to sexuality and attractiveness asparticularly important for defining the concept of orèra.
