Summary/Abstract: Evaluation as the form of an educational supervision has taken on a permanent role in the reality of Polish school, totogether with the control of law enforcement and the support of schools, institutions and teachers work. From the very beginning it aroused a lot of fears and emotions in teachers and headmasters. The author of this article experienced this educational evaluation as a headmaster of the school that was subjected to external evaluation and internal evaluation, which was performed within the educational supervision. Can the evaluation be the basis for planning a school development? To what extent can it support the work of teachers and headmaster? In her considerations, the author of this article is trying to find the answers tofor these question.
