Summary/Abstract: The focus of the present study is on German compounds in the administrative language of Galicia and their Polish equivalents. Provincialgesetzsammlung des Königreichs Galizien und Lodomerien für das Jahr 1835 (Zbiór Ustaw Prowincyionalnych dla Królestwa Galicyi i Lodomeryi z roku 1835) as a typical contemporary document has served the study as a source of language. It has been observed that the translation of German compounds utilizes morphosyntactic structures typical for the Polish language. However, it should also be noted how the German structures influenced the Polish translation in the period under discussion.
