Summary/Abstract: The following article examines one of the possible word formation methods – the explicit derivation in an Early New High German text. The analyzed evidences show that this language development period was decidedly decisive for the development of the modern, New High German language standard in all respects. The word formation methods used are typical of the epoch and contribute to a better understanding of this language period.
