Summary/Abstract: In this article the author would like to convince the readers about the necessity of doing research into the Polish dialectal word formation nests (it would give a full description of dialect word formation model). He also presents the difficulties and restrictions of such research, mainly connected with setting the motivating relations and presenting them in nests. On the one hand, the above mentioned difficulties are decided by the peculiarity of the material (dialect vocabulary) and on the other, by the resource materials available e.g. dialect dictionaries. The usefulness of the Lesser Poland dialect lexicons for the nests research is presented in the second part of the article.
