Summary/Abstract: It was widely considered that between the closure of the Royal University of Warsaw and the opening of the Main School, the Russian partition was under intellectual and scientific marasmus. Nevertheless, the pharmaceutical community was convinced that the seventeen-year existence of the Pharmaceutical School allowed to preserve the academic continuity of Polish pharmacy. The expression of strong intellectual awareness of pharmacists was their professional innovation as well as scientific, social and patriotic activities in the Warsaw Pharmaceutical Society. Pharmacists regarded the Pharmaceutical School as a spiritual and scientific predecessor of the Main School. Henryk Klawe was a graduate of the Pharmaceutical School, an outstanding Warsaw pharmaceutical entrepreneur and co-founder of the Warsaw Pharmaceutical Society. He co-created the circle of the Main School.
