Summary/Abstract: The article contains an overview of the literature as well as a description of the research procedure and reflections that emerged during the preparation and implementation of the scientific project „Postulated and actual musical competences of professionally active kindergarten teachers”. The authors share their thoughts on the research issues undertaken, showing meanders and dilemmas regarding the methodological strategy adopted in the exploration.
