Summary/Abstract: The author puts forward the thesis that the poetic volume of Stanisław Baliński confi rms his publishing programme and points to the modern views of Jakub Mortkowicz on the subject of multiculturalism. The analysis of Baliński’s poems leads to refl ection on the validity of publishers’ assumptions, who decided not only to publish outstanding poetry, but also to use it to realize the idea of learning about other cultures and opening themselves to otherness. The interpretation of poems in the context of postcolonial refl ection allowed to read these meanings from Stanisław Baliński’s poetry as well.
