Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to reflect on the role of language in the emergence of collective memory. Collective memory is understood as representations of knowledge related to the past, shaped by language patterns in discourses. This phenomenon was discussed on the example of the term ‘friedliche Revolution’ [peaceful revolution] and its functions in the German discourse of memory.
