Summary/Abstract: The subject of this article is an analysis and interpretation of two essays by Stanisław Przybyszewski (i.e., Psychiczny naturalizm and Edward Munch) as a two‑part study of Edvard Munch’s oeuvre. What is the author’s intention here is reconstructing the image of Munch as an artist portrayed in Przybyszewski’s texts, to subsequently emphasize the tension sustaining therein between the representation of the Norwegian artist’s paintings and the self‑presentation by the writer. The final part of the article focuses on the study of ekphrasis as practiced by Przybyszewski, namely, a space of developing relationship between image and discourse.
