Summary/Abstract: Rozmyślanie przemyskie – t he l argest l ate 1 5th century artefact of Old Polish literature preserved in the 16th century copy – is to a large extent its author’s compilation of excerpts from Latin and Czech sources. The article presents the results of a comparative analysis of excerpts from Rozmyślanie przemyskie and one of the likely sources of the third – so-called Passion – part of the apocryph, that is, Jacques de Vitry’s Passio Christi et opera Christi. These results are, in turn, juxtaposed with the results of the earlier conducted research on the artefact and another source – Vita beate virginis Marie et Salvatoris rhythmica, an 18th century treatise that has inspired mainly the so-called first part. The comparison of the approach of the Polish writer to two stylistically different Latin works has made it possible to identify the solutions that are grounded upon the specificity of the source and those which are characteristic of the whole text of Rozmyślanie przemyskie.
