Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of research concerning the attitude of young people to gender stereotypes. An object of analysis is essays written by secondary school students about literary characters. Young people express their opinions on different matters, including role models from different literary epochs, taking into account gender differences and comparing the present with the past.
