Summary/Abstract: The text that is presented concerns the research categories and turns, and their significance for the realisation of humanistic and social research, including paedagogical ones. The bulk of the article is devoted to epistemological and methodological problems which may be faced by a researcher who realises a research project based on a selected category. In the case of the present text the author makes reference to experiences derived from the realisation of her own research project associated with the category of intentionality and its significance for determining the structure of a paedagogical theory and the sense of educational activity.
