Summary/Abstract: The text is about Children’s Literature Centre – unique on a national scale library department, which exists in Public Municipal Library Galeria Książki of Oświęcim. CLC is educational, searching, documentation and informative section of library and works under the patronage of Polish Section of IBBY and in consultation with group of librarians and researchers from whole Poland. Paper presents benefits which come from connections between academic research and everyday library practice. Moreover, text includes information about possible ways how to cooperate with CLC. Beyond short presentation of CLC collections, paper focuses on this department’s actions (CLC prepares educational projects, drafts of library lessons, trainings for librarians and teachers, answers on students queries and coordinates organisation of Kornel Makuszyński Nationwide Literary Award and International Children’s Book Day). Furthermore, it contains reflections about building bridges between scientific research and librarians, teachers and parents practice. Library has an important role in this topic and this paper shows how make those connections. It also presents a few innovative actions and good practices around children’s book which library in Oświęcim does, inspired by newest scientific research.
