Summary/Abstract: The reading concerns Paul Valéry’s sonnet "The Bee", a fragment of Rainer Maria Rilke’s letter to Witold Hulewicz, Bolesław Leśmian’s poem "The Beesand" a fragment of Czesław Miłosz’s poem "Orpheus and Eurydice". Recognising the semantics and the symbolism of the figure of a bee, which is common to all these texts, allows us to consider them to be the elements of a broader ontological project: an attempt to answer the question of the relation between being and non-being. In essence, this project is about denying the division between being and non-being, proposing the concept of a greater whole instead.
