Summary/Abstract: Varna Region, being one of the twenty-eight districts of the country, actively participates in various projects for operational and non-operational programs of the European Union. In line with this, the purpose of this report is to identify which programs have the highest activity in the district and why, and also to identify the economic and social effects on farmers in the district as a result of financing their rural development program projects. The investigation uses methods such as analysis of the averages, deduction, induction, and a comparative analysis as a result of the participation of the municipalities of Varna district under certain programs with projects for the period 2014-2018. Several in-depth interviews were conducted with farmers in the area who applied for a rural development program. The report clarifies the exact economic and social effects of the development of agricultural and non-agricultural activities in the analyzed area.
