Summary/Abstract: Humanity makes technological breakthroughs to improve its existence, but at some point in time, its creations begin to change everyday life, making it highly dependent on innovation. It is unlikely that the authors of the first computer network would have imagined to what extent and in what areas of application their original idea would develop, but today the existence of modern civilization is relatively unthinkable without the global computer network Internet. The paper examines several indicators of systematic monitoring by the European Commission - the Digital Scoreboard, which represent the importance that the Internet and mobile connectivity have on citizens, and especially with regard to the ability to purchase goods and services through the global network.
