Summary/Abstract: This study aims to provide evidence for the essential need of an academic approach and systematized strategy for the international innovation and technology transfer (IITT), by showcasing the positive impact of the collaboration of academia and the real sector in the contrary to the regions with fragmented or transient course of IITT. All the arguments and reasoning in the study are based on the assumption that the IITT is the core of the economic transformation of the 21st century and it is the only opportunity for cohesive globalization of sustainability, though the assumption is also justified in the text. Although many would not argue nor even question the conclusion, a substantial number and a critical mass are the examples that prove the broken ties between academia and the real sector. The paper is advocating the conclusion that economic growth and sustainable development are only achievable in measurable results by practicing IITT under complex regional strategies, which deploy long-term synergies between academia and industries.
