Summary/Abstract: The subject of the article is a long-term relationship connecting Friedrich Schiller with Sophie Mereau-Brentano. The author of the article analyzes their private contacts and the influence of Schiller on the artistic development of Mereau. The research corpus consists of preserved correspondence, Mereau’s poetry published in Schiller‘s magazines and her diary.
