Summary/Abstract: The author reviews contemporary issues in the European political landscape such as EU’s leadership crisis, bloc’s sentiments towards US, Russia, China, its Eastern member states and neighbouring countries as well as divergence in the positions among the EU members. The article contributes to the ever-going discussion whether to integrate further and transfer more power to Brussels, to reach higher level of supranationality or to limit this process and keep sovereignty.
