Summary/Abstract: This paper reviews the genesis of the lobbying practice in a historical perspective, provides definition and scope of the lobbying and its forms in the contemporary political process in the EU. The author highlights that apart from the business interests, access to the EU political process is foreseen for non-profit lobbying as well as advocacy. The report presents current trends and discussion on regulating the lobbying practice and shedding light on the stakeholders involved.
