Summary/Abstract: Based on the generalizations specific to the issues concerning Islam and Gender that are often reflected in the media, politics and academia, the article attempts at a multilateral analysis of the perception of wearing a hijab or a burqa in terms of the attitudes and perceptions in both Islamic and non-Islamic countries.
