Summary/Abstract: Being a complex, multi-dimensional and multi-layered concept, integration is not a new term in refugee studies. The Refugee Convention of 1951 and its 1967 Protocol about the status of refugees is the basis for the protection and the integration of refugees. Being a centrepiece document for refugees, the convention is part of initiatives for the advancement of universal human rights.
