Summary/Abstract: The motive of wandering present in the story written by Bruno Schulz is the center of our interest. The characters of his story often wander because of their spiritual insatiability. Wandering is caused by the imagination of the characters. Threads, which reveal these issues, include the search for cinnamon stores, architecture, spatial Architecture, and hackney carriage ride. // A stray in the world of imagination is at the same time a stray in the real world. The labyrinth is the space of wandering. Life is a cage, a jail (limited by time and space), and the real world is gray, barren; it is an inferno, hell. Jakub and Józio want to escape the ordinariness of life, the material dimension of being. It can be performed through imagination. // Reaching a certain unity, reaching the center is the target of the heroes of the story. However, the satisfaction of spiritual longings can only be achieved beyond life.
