Summary/Abstract: The text examines the relationships between the creative workspace and its effects pointing to various legal and historical conditions having an impact on the contemporary perception of the issue of the workroom. The author refers to the examples of the artists whose works are heavily influenced by their workplaces. The process of art shifting to the private sphere, characteristic of, inter alia, the circle of alternative culture of the 1980s is discussed.
