Summary/Abstract: On 19 May, on the sidelines of the Arctic Council ministerial in Reykjavik, the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov met for the first time. During the talks, the U.S. administration announced a decision to waive the application of sanctions on certain entities involved in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
