Summary/Abstract: On 1 February, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visited Minsk. He met with President Alexander Lukashenka and Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makei. It was the first visit by an American secretary of state to Belarus in 26 years. Pompeo’s visit demonstrates U.S. interest in cooperation with Belarus, including in the energy sphere.
