Summary/Abstract: This study is part of the BISS project "Human Capital in Belarus: Sources of Competitiveness and Modernization". In this article, based on the comparison of world experience and Belarusian practice of implementing venture projects, analysis of normative legal acts of Belarus, as well as other conditions of activity of the venture industry; problems are identified and the development of venture investments in the country is assessed, proposals are formulated to eliminate some of the specified barriers.
