Summary/Abstract: Czech arms exports are growing, but there is practically no political debate about their impact on the public interest. This text names political disinterest and insufficient transparency on the part of state authorities as two problems that prevent the connection of export policy with broader foreign policy interests. In short, the Czech Republic does not address the impact of military equipment exports, for example on regional stability, human rights, the fight against terrorism or the fight against organized crime in the places of destination. Political parties should strive to strengthen the role of parliament in controlling arms exports. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs should inform the public how it assesses the impact of exports outside NATO/EU on the foreign policy interests of the Czech Republic. The Ministry of Industry and Trade should publish information on the granting of export licenses more frequently, in a more complete and user-friendly form.
