Summary/Abstract: Despite the City of London’s support for the UK remaining in the EU, financiers there are arguing about the impact of Brexit on the global role of the British financial centre. Regardless of whether the United Kingdom exits the EU or not, any further increase in the City’s importance will depend primarily on its competitiveness against emerging markets and the economic situation in the UK.
