Summary/Abstract: This year, Poland celebrates the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Indonesia, one of the rising powers in Asia, a stable democracy, and characterised by its high pace of economic growth. Although trade has grown in recent years, the potential of economic as well as political cooperation remains untapped. To improve this situation, enhanced cooperation on the provincial level can be effective, as Indonesia is highly decentralised. Moreover, a visit by high-level Polish officials in Indonesia would support Polish businesses seeking to enter this prospective, but difficult market.
