Summary/Abstract: At the beginning of 2020, Croatia started its first presidency of the Council of the European Union. Its main task is to coordinate work on the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and the most important event of its term, the EU-Western Balkans summit in May. Croatia supports a generous cohesion policy but not maintaining the current funding under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). It also advocates further enlargement of the Union, strengthening environmental protection, and countering climate change.
