Summary/Abstract: Russia’s aggressive policy in Europe and China’s in the South China Sea enforced changes in Canada’s security policy. Whether the Liberals or Conservatives win the October election, the next government will try to strengthen Canada’s ability to support NATO’s collective defence mission and U.S. operations in the Asia-Pacific region. To this end, however, politicians will have to convince public opinion that power projection capabilities strengthen Canadian security.
