Short Description
The Journal of Applied Cultural Studies is an international, peer-reviewed scientific journal directed at researchers representing all fields of the humanities and social sciences. The editorial board of the journal publishes original scientific articles, focused on the concept of applied cultural studies. Empirically-oriented social science, since its beginnings, has faced the problem of defining the aim of its studies. The social sciences have failed in their attempt to develop a logos out of the different forms of ethnic, social and national life. The authors of the project believe that culture is an assemblage of patterns preserved in the traditions and customs of a particular community. All the attempts at replacing this diversity with one homogeneous picture are doomed to fail. The presented approach justifies a change in attitude to method. Culture, when regarded as a dia-logos, could become a field of exploration, under the condition that the intention to present a complex approach to what culture is be abandoned. The Editorial Board of the journal accepts new proposals for articles written in English, according to the presented paradigm, each year until June 15th.
