Born from the need for the existence of a specialized publishing space for the field of design and arts in general, this magazine was established at the initiative of Associate Professor Iosif Mihailo PhD Hab, together with the art critic Professor Ioan Iovan PhD and Lecturer Sergiu Zegrean PhD. Design Art Papers is a publication of the Center for Research and Creation in Decorative Arts and Design (West University of Timișoara, Faculty of Arts and Design). Since its beginning, in 2014, the professional endorsement of the Union of Visual Artists in Romania, Timişoara Branch was obtained, the magazine being, therefore, published under the auspices of UAP. The thematic profile of the magazine is subsumed to the Visual Arts Domain, including areas of interest, such as: art theory and criticism; fine arts – issues of painting, graphics, sculpture; decorative arts – research in ceramics, textile arts; design – innovation and issues of product design, industrial, interior design, graphic, concept art, web design, architecture, as well as many other new forms of manifestation of contemporary art. Within the journal were published a series of research results from the Center for Research and Creation in Decorative Arts and Design and more. The impact on the art domain, we believe, is significant, in view of the fact that there are not many such magazines, nationally. The research results of the members and associates of the Center for Research and Creation in Decorative Arts and Design are included in the materials written by them and published in Design Art Papers. Mainly, the readers and collaborators of the magazine express their desire to publish an article, contacting the editorial secretariat. Another means is the invitation, the open call for publication, through the institutional email and through other channels for disseminating information. Authors from abroad also contact us through inter-institutional links or in response to our invitations to publish.
