The article is devoted to the problems of reading and readership of students, especially those with developmental dyslexia. The author tackles three areas of problems in reading: perceptual, psycholinguistic and psychological. She recognizes that an increasing number of students have problems with reading (reading technique) and hence, they are reluctant to open a book. She indicates the value of different campaigns disseminating reading and generating motivation, breaking negative stereotypes associated with reading and readership and arousing positive emotions associated with a book.
