After a short presentation of the past development of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Ward between 1932 and 2002, in which all its directors and staff members are identified, the paper discusses important organizational, professional, and scientific changes introduced to the Ward in the period between 2002 and 2004 in more detail. In addition to an elaborate description of how new methods and new organization conforming to modern principles were introduced to the Ward, with an addition of some historical remarks, special emphasis is laid on the efforts of all staff members to improve the protection of motherhood and justify the existence of the tertiary regional gynecology and obstetrics center. I would like it to be known that our duty to our patients, our staff, and our students has been fulfilled in whole. The said preparations, which had lasted for years, resulted in the transformation of the Ward into the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the Clinical Hospital Center Osijek in 2009.

The development level of rural areas in Poland is strongly differentiated depending on a region. EU Cohesion Funds are designed to support less developed regions in overcoming development obstacles. In order to address them correctly the identification of the main barriers of rural development in specific regions of Poland is crucial. The objective of the paper is to present the quantitative method of their identification. Factor analysis is used to determine the main obstacles of rural development on the example of north-western region.

Ultra High Strength and Performance Concrete development is a relatively new industry. The last 150 years have shown that despite of a constant increasing resistance for the concrete, the practical applications were often behind to these innovations in materials science. This appears to be due to increased costs as the resistance increases per unit volume and a caution restraint to use new materials in practical applications. This paper is intended to be as an encouragement to present a practical structural applications of Ultra High Performance Concrete (BUIP) or reactive powder concrete (BPR), first developed in Romania, by using locally available materials, including waste reusing and thereby making an ecological green concrete. This concrete has a viscous consistency but a slump flow similar to the self compacting concrete (SCC), and compressive strength values exceed 150 MPa (150 ÷ 200 MPa).

For the preparation of elastomer materials, besides the rubber and crosslinking system, a lot of additives are used, in order to improve the physical-mechanical properties, reduce the costs and achieve particular properties of the final material. The amounts of crosslinking compound components, determine the exploitation properties of elastomer materials. Microporous elastomer materials are crosslinked macromolecules with a cellular structure formed using blowing agents which form cells by releasing gases at higher temperatures. The most important properties of microporous elastomers are low density, excellent damping properties, owing to the cellular structure, as well as high strength versus mass. In this work, the influence of the blowing agent content on the physical-mechanical properties of microporous elastomers based on terpolymer poly(ethylene-co-propylene-co-2-ethylidene-5-norbornene) rubber (EPDM) crosslinked with sulfur and reinforced with carbon black particles, was investigated. The content of a chemical blowing agent (oxybis(benzenesulphonyl hydrazide)) was varied (1.3; 1.8 and 2.0 phr). Based on rheological measurements, the rubber compound curing behaviour was determined. The density of the final materials shows significant differences depending on the blowing agent content in the prepared samples. It was assessed that prepared cellular elastomer materials are suitable for use in the fabrication of sealing profiles the automotive industry. The obtained elastomers with lower density can be used for the profile seals, as for, static parts that are not exposed to tangential impacts, while for the microporous seals of movable parts, higher density elastomers can be used.

Contemporary libraries in their essence represent the synergy of different tasks, resources, services, relationships and activities. Although they are not today the only place of access to knowledge, their role in learning, education, creation and dissemination of knowledge are still very significant. This statement is especially true when it comes to higher education libraries that are and should be support of creating, sharing and disseminating knowledge in academic and wider community, considering that their main activities are aimed at mediating between sources of information and knowledge and information needs of user populations for the purpose of learning, researching and creating a new information product. Improving the media and information literacy of the user population is the center of which depend all other activities of the library. About the information literacy first has begun to be spoken in the library and educational communities.

The current study is meant to introduce eight archaeological sites into the scientific circuit. These sites belong to the Early Neolithic period, to be more precise, the third phase of the Starčevo-Criș culture. From a location standpoint, six of these sites are found in the Aranca's Plain (Câmpia Arancăi) and two sites in the Moșnița Plain (Câmpia Moșnița). On the one hand, this increases the still low number of known sites, on the other, it contributes to the reconstruction and better understanding of the Early Neolithic settlement network.
