The question about man – his origin, nature, vocation and future – is one of the most urgent questions of the presence, in terms of outlook. Christianity recalls that separation of anthropology from theology inevitably results in an ideology that paradoxically deifies and degrades man, at the same time questioning the fundamental values which protect him. The ethical chaos of post-modernity, being the result of moving away from God, has its particularly dramatic consequences visible in the area of human sexuality and family life. In these spheres, undermining the truth of the Creation of man, and refusing the dependence of Creation on God, lead to family destruction and directly harms human life. Finally, by recalling the fate of the evangelical Prodigal Son, J. Ratzinger/Benedict XVI proves everything that seems to be a deserved vastness of freedom for human pride may only lead – in sinful usurpation – to the extreme debasement of man.

The Holy Spirit gives the whole Church a missionary character. The Second Vatican Council reminds us that all Christians at their Baptism receive the dignity of God’s children, as well as the vocation obliging them to participate in the missionary apostolate of the Church (RM 71). Pope John Paul II introduces proclaiming of the Gospel as the message of hope and refers to the first proclaiming and the new proclaiming. He emphasizes that the revelation gives history its meaning as it proclaims Christ’s mystery. Evangelization is the proclaiming of Jesus Christ and his Gospel to the world, to achieve the goal of redemption of man and to obtain eternal bliss on which we can already participate by a holy life. A good starting point and example of an effective understanding and realizing of evangelization the Pope sees in Mary, to whom one can turn with confidence and ask her for help in the understanding and realizing of this existential vocation. The ever changing history of the Church is accompanied with signs. Among them the Book of Revelations interposes a great sign, which took place in heaven and talks about a battle between a woman and a dragon. A woman, adorned with the sun and crying aloud in the pangs of childbirth (cf. Rv 12:1-2) symbolizes also the Church, the people of the New Covenant who are exposed to persecution, but always protected by God. The true winner is the child born of the woman. In this battle is the certainty that the dragon will be defeated (Rv 12:9). Christ-God who became man has prevailed over it – by his death and resurrection – and martyrs have also prevailed “by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, even until the death” (Rv 12:11). The John Paul’s theological reflection upon these serious events often culminates in prayer to Mary, the Mother of Hope. The Gospel of hope, entrusted to the Church and accepted by it, demands daily proclamation and daily witness. That is the vocation owning to the Church at all times and in all places. It is her inmost identity. She is here to evangelize which means to proclaim and teach and to mediate the grace, to reconciliate sinners with God, to commemorate Christ’s sacrifi ce in Holy Mass, which is the celebration of the memory of his death and glorious resurrection for the salvation of each person and all of humanity.

This study deals with the quotation of Gen. 2:24 in New Testament. After a brief explanation by Jesus in Mk. 10 concerning controversy about divorce, it is presented in the argumentation of St. Paul in his Epistles to Corinth and Ephesus. The quotation underlines the bodily unity of Christians – man and women – with Christ. If someone bodily unified in fornication, he or she would break the law of that unity. First Corinthians 6:16b underlines the negative aspect of bodily union with a prostitute in the quest for salvation. The positive aspect in Pauline thought is expressed in Eph. 5:31, an exhortation read in Orthodox marriage services. They become an entity (“one body” in Greek and Hebrew language, “one flesh”), through their sexual relationship. They shall be no longer two, but one. Therefore, they cannot be separated.

Polish pedagogical thought of the interwar period pointed out the importance of forming the citizens’ attitude towards the state.. Cultivation of pro-state attitudes was closely related to the propagation of work ethos. Those educational actions were also undertaken in schools, among others, in the course of religious education. The concept of work was presented in such a way as to show the pupils the value of work, evoke positive attitudes towards their chosen professions, encourage them to work honestly and responsibly, to form a mature personality expressed by the quality of their performed work. All those actions were aimed at strengthening the power and welfare of the state. For that reason, work was perceived in the categories of a patriotic duty. In a way, it was similar to what we call work patriotism in our society these days.
