In this interview a writer, Professor Dževad Karahasan, a member of The Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a member of The German Academy for Language and Literature, offers some answers concerning literature, arts, knowledge, cognition, blasphemy and the phenomenon of fear. He lectured at the universities of Sarajevo, Salzburg, Gottingen, Berlin. His books are translated to fifteen languages. He wrote novels: Eastern Divan, The ring of Shaharyar, Sara and Sarafina, The Night Council, collections of short stories: A house for the exhausted, A report from the Dark World, and collections of essays: About Language and Fear, Exodus from a City, The Book of Gardens. He is correspondent to many renowned European magazines like “Lettre International”, Berlin, “Les Temps Modernes” and “L Esprit”, Paris, “Micro Mega”, Rome, “Storm”, London. He was awarded a number of international awards, prizes and tributes.
