The present work indicates that changes in the study of memory continue at a rapid rate, perhaps exponentialy, but the basic structure of human's memory is always constant. we know that memory actually is not such an entity at all, but rather an aspect of the functioning of a complex information processing system. Items of information-words, propositions- are fed into the system and, in a sense, are later retrieved. However, we have no reason to think that between input and output the words or propositions are stored in specific locations somewhere in the head.

Lithuanian educational system encounters a complicated task of school, its vision and mission modernization in the context of socio-cultural world and European educational concepts. Pedagogues' conception of a modern school is mostly related with material provision, liberalization of training forms, democratization of relations.Pedagogues' positive attitude to- wards school modernization is suppressed by fear of related changes and problems, insufficient initiativity in the searching of modern school, including the fol- , lowing most important ones: permanently deepening conflict between the „generations" of pedagogues, fear to loose job, insufficiently tolerant relations, lack in experience sharing and communication.

The purpose of the article is to show that truancy and school absenteeism are complex multidimensional problem and that teachers and researchers need to understand the issues involved in these phenomena. The distribution of dropouts based on the data produced on teacher's reports about 392 truants and 108 absentees from comprehensive schools prove, that persistent absenteeism does increase substantially in the later years of schooling. Dropping from schools is a progressing phenomenon, reaching a peak at the age of 13-15 in the eight, seventh and sixth grades. Two thirds of dropouts had already had failures in previous years. That date shows that over one third of dropouts started schooling before the age of seven.

In this article will is understood as a mechanism of value internalization. Altogether the focus of the article is on the essence of the will and ifs main functions. Also some peculiarities of the development of will are discussed, as well as the importance of good will in the internalization of spiritual values. As the highest form of the phenomena of the will, good will integrate within itself and give meaning to other peculiarities of the will: fortitude, steadiness, intensity, quickness of wit, etc.
