On the first Sunday of Lent, the Church celebrates the restoration of icons for use in services and private devotional life of Christians. On this occasion, thourgh this Pastoral Letter, the synodal fathers insisted on the role and effects of visual content, referring also to the benefits of iconography. In the same time, the letter reiterate that being Orthodox means not only formal affiliation to a religious institution but a way of life.

The new evangelization is an instrument needed to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the same but new in zeal, method and means. The ideas of the School of St. Andrew’s Evangelization, which have been presented, are a practical response to this call. The article consists of a detailed analysis of the whole vision, methodology and strategy of the pastoral program of the School of Evangelization. It is role and concern for taking up the challenges of the new evangelization has been taken into account. A synthesis of the thoughts of the methods was presented, as well as a detailed description of the formation program. The hope that the research undertaken will contribute to a deepening of the existing knowledge, which could contribute to the use of the above mentioned program, to the formation of new evangelizers for the new evangelization, is not without foundation.

It is well known that the family has always occupied a central place in Christian teaching. It represents the most precious and most holy intimate framework for cultivating and practicing Christ’s love for His Church. The purpose of Christian marriage is to raise and educate children and youth for life, but at the same time, to urge them to “prepare for another life”, as St. Basil the Great said, for eternal life. This text aims to present Christ’s life in the midst of the family, highlighting the trinitarian communion as the “Supreme Model” of unity and understanding of conjugal life, It presents the mystery of the family and the mystery of the child and the perception of children as God’s supreme gift to people. The mystery of the family is also reflected outside the family, because people can become “parents” for other children and the mystery of the child envelops us all, because we are all sons of our Father in Heaven.

“Digital natives”, today’s children are the first generation to be born and raised in a world where their experiences, way of learning and lifestyle are strongly influenced by digital media. A world in which Google is omnipotent in terms of information and the Internet is ubiquitous and always offers, without interruption, day and night, an almost infinite content in terms of diversity, but captivating and enslaving in terms of attractiveness. Born in the digital age, the child is carried and then steps by himself into the world of digital technology, eventually acquiring a familiarity with devices greater than with human beings. He will have to learn to use devices and computer programs easier than he will be able to identify and recognize his own emotions, feelings and moods or of those present in his world, increasingly restricted and limited to his room or to the place where the PC is, his soul growing lonelier and sadder, more and more discontent and unfulfilled.

The “digital man” and especially the “digital natives” are increasingly isolated in front of computers. Working, walking and playing in nature are more and more foreign to them, creating special problems in their lifestyle, in the way of interrelating with parents, family, friends and colleagues, and even with themselves, with their soul and their interiority. As many as the physical effects of excessive use of digital technology (fatigue, muscle tension, stress, cervical problems, sedentary lifestyle and obesity, sleep dysfunction, decreased moments spent in nature), the more serious are the neurological and psychological effects (addictions, cognitive and memory problems, ADHD, anxiety, etc.).

One of the most important periods in Năsăud’s history is that of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. This period was characterized by an unprecedented cultural development for the little Transylvanian city. This is mainly due to the establishment of the Border Gymnasium in 1863. This attracted many young people to this city who wanted to learn, taking advantage of the privileges of a bordering city, the most important fact being that the most worthy of them could further attend the courses of a prestigious university of the empire. Not only the young people who wanted to study came to Năsăud but also young professors eager to build a career. Among them are Iacob Mureşianu and Augustin Bena, two young music teachers who, through their teaching and love for music and art, animated the cultural life of Năsăud.
