E. Simonis, unatočen određenom zamoru svjetske javnosti tom temom, i nadalje je prvorazredno važan predmet mišljenja i promišljanja prirodnoslovnih i društveno-humanističkih orijentiranih znanstvenika i stručnjaka.

This issue of Teatron magazine – incidentally, the last issue to be signed by the current editorial team – is dedicated to the works of theatrologists who originally hail from Serbia but are engaged in research at universities abroad. The professional activities of our researchers working in the field of theatrical studies abroad are just one segment of the increasingly widespread and relevant ‘culture in exile’, whose protagonists and results are most often unknown in Serbia.

The topic of this issue is the same as that of the 14th International Symposium of Theatre Critics’ and Scholars, held in Novi Sad in late May this year, which was organised by the Sterijino Pozorje and the International Association of Theatre Critics (IATC) – Glumac je mrtav, živeo glumac! [The actor is dead, long live the actor!]. We therefore bring you a selection of the most comprehensive and provocative talks from this gathering.

In this edition of our Teatron magazine we carry the second and final part of our topical series on The New Political Theatre, which we started in the previous issue. After delving into the general phenomena relevant for the new political theatre and the theatrical scenes in our region (one of the prompts for exploring the topic was looking into the comparative experiences of neighbouring countries), the second part of this article is grounded in the exploration of experiences the theatres in Serbia have had so far. As we mentioned in the previous issue, there are several reasons why the concept of the new political theatre (or the concept of being political in the theatre and performing arts) in this context is mostly connected with the first decade of the XXI century.
