The recently deceased Miklós Jancsó was active for a long time as an actor and then as a teacher and writer in Cluj. Márta Bodó reviewed his last volume for this issue of our journal. In his light-hearted book, entitled Once Upon a Time, There Was a Kolozsvár…, the author sums up his memories related to theatre, his lifelong passion, in association with the everyday life of his beloved city.

The theatre of Odorheiu Secuiesc, recently with the cooperation of the Hungarian theatre Oradea, regularly hosts a competition for playwrights, the best plays being published every two years in a drama anthology. This year saw the publication of the third volume of the series, reviewed in our current issue by Ferenc Zsidó, whose favourite play from the recent anthology is Levente Moravecz’s There Will Be No Morning, Fred.

József Bartha is known both as an artist as well as a stage designer and teacher at the Tg-Mureș University of Arts. His book, Video and Spectacle (Videó és spektákulum) issued in 2014 by UArtPress publishing house starts with the clarification of basic concepts and a historical introduction and continues with the study of the use of video images in theatre performances in Romania and particularly in Transylvania. Tamás Lovassy Cseh wrote the review.
