The article presents the different interpretations of the categories of “integrity” and “understanding” in the modern didactics. The aim of the article is to identify those aspects of the categories, which are appropriate in the humanistic education. The author proves that the relationship between the didactic phenomena of “integrity” and “understanding” is based on the logical and meaningful links within academic content, relying on and developing the subjective experience of learners, disclosing the meaning of a semiotic system of information and interpretation. It is noted that the achievement of integrity and understanding in teaching is an important condition of formation of semantic sphere in learning and learner’s personal development and contributes to conscious acquisition of knowledge and skills. Particular attention is drawn to such type of understanding as "insightful understanding", which is based on deep mental activity of students, their intuition and creative efforts. Insightful understanding facilitates the integration of rational and the intuitive experience of learners and provides new op-portunities for interpreting and creating an internal image of new facts, concepts, and holistic understanding of academic content. Thus, insightful understanding of academic content in many respects will overcome formalism in education and will be an important factor in the development of individuals in the educational process.

A study of wide spectrum of micro- and macroelements in certain organs and tissues of normal and alloxan-induced diabetic (DM) rats has been performed. It is shown that regardless of the type of tissue, ion content was distributed as follows in descending order: K > Na > Mg > Ca > Fe > Zn > Cu > Mn > Mb ≥ Cr. However, for each element some differences in its distri-bution among organs were observed. In DM rats significant increase of ion concentration has been found: Cu, Fe and Zn – in the kidney; Fe – in the liver; Ca, K, Mg, and Fe – in the pan-creas; Fe – in liver and muscle tissue. Intake of a Curcuma rhizome powder by healthy rats practically did not lead to change of the maintenance of elements in tissues, but in DM rats it caused significant increase of Mg and Zn content only in a kidney. Thus, Curcuma longa practically does not render influence on distribution of bioelements in organs and tissues of rats both in norm, and at DM. Possibly, the bioelements which are included in a plant, do not play an essential role in hypoglycemic effect of a phytopreparation described by us earlier.
