“Kremlin kids” is a term describing the younger generation of the Russian elite’s close family and other relatives. Owing to their families’ influence, “Kremlin kids” enjoy a privileged position within Russia, running strategic state-owned companies, affording studies, acquiring property across the world and winning lucrative state contracts for their own companies. Not all children of the Russian elite are “Kremlin kids,” yet almost every member of the elite has a “Kremlin kid” in their family. Within Russia, the “Kremlin kids”—the elite’s most trustworthy associates—help their parents and families control strategic Russian companies (in oil, gas, energy, banking, etc.). Those who run their own businesses can count on a substantial flow of money from the state budget (less often, they personally work in the government). Such influence and experience make the “Kremlin kids” the most likely successors of the current ruling Russian elite.

The post-accession migration amongst the Poles has constituted one of the most significant demographic processes in the country. Unfortunately, there are still too few works in the Polish Social Sciences on post-accession re-emigrants. The study considers the problem of return migration from the European Union countries to Poland and its socio-economic determinants, in the context of sociology of migration, sociology of work, demography and ethnicity, as well as the life-course perspective. The aim of the book is also to present a new typology of return migration.

The book Rural Tourism is collective work of a team of members of the Association SVECR. After the monograph Municipal Tourism (2017), it is the second book from a series entitled Current Topics in Tourism. This monograph aims to present a wide range of issues related to rural tourism, which can be considered a possible option for establishing sustainable development in rural areas. The need for regular maintenance of the cultural landscape of the countryside requires the development of new alternative programs which will include tourism as one component. The publication includes the new insights contributing to the formation of a theoretical foundation, research projects and key studies about rural tourism in the Czech Republic. It presents possible options and current topics for next research in this area.

Although there are many empirical studies examining the effects of financial development on economic growth performance of countries, the impact of the increased national income as a result of financial development on the low-income segments of society and income distribution is mostly ignored. In addition, it is also well-known fact that there are contradictory arguments about the impact of financial development on income distribution. However, according to the hypothesis called "financial Kuznets hypothesis" which has been introduced in recent years, in the initial stages of financial development, high asymmetric information and the high cost of accessing financial resources deteriorates the income distribution. Along with the maturation of the financial system, access to financial resources of the low-income segment is facilitated therefore income distribution is positively affected. To sum up, according to this hypothesis, an inverted U-shaped relationship exists between financial development and income inequality. This study aims to examine the validity of the financial Kuznets hypothesis for the period of 1990-2013 for 23 developing countries. In this direction, it is aimed to examine the effects of economic growth, democracy, human capital and financial development on income inequality. For this purpose, panel unit root, panel cointegration, panel FMOLS long-run coefficient estimator and panel causality tests are utilized to examine the relationship between mentioned variables. As a result of the empirical analyses, it is seen that when the findings are evaluated on the basis of the panel, increasing national income, democracy level and human capital accumulation reduces income inequality. Furthermore, it is found that there is Ushaped relationship between financial development and income inequality and therefore the existence of financial Kuznets hypothesis is not confirmed.

The financial systems and economic structures of the countries are going through an important development process, especially with increasing globalization. The rise in trade volume, the increase in the mobility of labor and capital, technological innovations, the increase in the quality of human capital, and the increasing social capital investments of people around the world have led to significant and positive developments in both finance and the economy. With the changes in the international conjuncture, the changing macro and micro conditions of the countries force the current economic ecosystem to change. On the other hand, epidemics, natural disasters, war, and terror environments have led to the development of decision mechanisms and policies, both individually and institutionally. The pioneering effects of the changes in consumption and investment first occur in the financial markets. Such important changes require careful examination in terms of their effects, especially in the period in which they occur. Academic studies investigate the effects and consequences of these changes, providing depth to the subjects and acquiring new perspectives. In addition, it contributes to the progress of financial and economic policies on a healthier ground in theory and practice by obtaining advisory inferences for decision-makers. The editorial book titled "Economy and Finance Studies", which we have prepared, deals with the issues that have been widely discussed in the economy, especially in recent years, with valuable academicians and authors. This book titled "Studies on Economics and Financial Policies" is an editorial work which examines the theoretical and practical issues related to various economic and financial policies that are currently carried out and will be carried out in the future in many developed and developing countries of today, and recommends various policy studies that may be applied in the future to researchers and policy makers. Undoubtedly, the literature of economics and finance includes a very comprehensive and broad body of theoretical infrastructure, the systematic foundations of which date back to the 15th Century. However, since it is not possible to cover all of the theoretical and applied economic and financial theories of the areas mentioned in this work, the areas that are mostly highlighted in the aforementioned literature are discussed in this work within the frameworks of specific subjects. These discussions are handled in a holistic and compatible way within the scope of the work, and this integrity is supported by theoretical and applied studies. In this respect, we would like to thank all our authors who contributed their valuable time for the preparation of this book, and, as editors, we are proud to put a stone, albeit a small one, to the ever developing economy and finance literature. Göç ve göçmenlik kavramı insanlık tarihi kadar eski olan bir kavram olmakla beraber aynı zamanda birçok ülkenin de ortak problemidir. Daha iyi ve rahat bir yaşam sürme arzusu, daha yüksek ücret düzeylerinde çalışma isteği gibi sebeplerde gönüllü olarak başka ülkeye göç edenlerin yanı sıra savaşlar ve doğal afetler gibi insanların kendi can güvenliğini sağlamak için zorunlu olarak yaşadığı yeri terk edip başka bir ülkede belki de daha farklı şartlar altında yaşamak zorunda olduğu bir durum vardır. Göçün yapılış şekli, sebebi ne olursa olsun hem göç veren hem de göç alan ülke için farklı sorunları da beraberinde getirmektedir. Son yıllarda göç hareketliliğinde gözle görülür bir artış meydana gelmiştir. Artan göç hareketliliği karşısında başta Avrupa olmak üzere tüm dünya sorunun çözümü için bir arayış içine girmiştir. Türkiye hem gelişmiş batı ülkeleri hem de az gelişmiş diğer ülkeler arasında bulunmakta ve bu nedenle de özellikle düzensiz göçmenler tarafından bir geçiş güzergâhım olarak kullanılmaktadır. Özellikle Ortadoğu ve Balkanlarda yaşanan savaşlar ve istikrarsızlıklar Türkiye’ye doğru yoğun bir göç dalgasına neden olmuştur. Türkiye dem geçmişten gelen bağlar ve duymuş olduğu sorumluluk anlayışı nedeni ile zor durumdaki sığınmacılara ev sahipliği yapmıştır. İçinde bulunduğumuz çağın çok fazla göçe şahitlik etmesi nedeni ile bu çağa göçler çağı adı verilmiştir. UNCHR verilerine göre günümüzde dünya üzerinde Mayıs 2022 itibari ile evlerini terk et mek zorunda kalan insan sayısı 100 milyonu aşmıştır. Bu insanların 3 milyon 800 binine de Türkiye ev sahipliği yapmaktadır. KALMİREC Göç, Nüfus, Eğitim ve İstihdam Sorunları Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi’ne ithafen hazırlanan kitabımız on bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde yurttaşlık hakları ve insan hakları üzerinde kavramsal çerçeveden bahsedilmektedir. İkinci bölümde makroekonomik çerçeve kapsamında uluslararası göç- kalkınma ilişkisine değinilmektedir. Üçüncü bölümde unicorn ve decacorn kavramları tanıtılarak güncel verilere yer verilerek ve göçmen girişimcilik kavramı üzerinde durulmuştur. Dördüncü bölümde Avrupa Birliği-Türkiye İlişkilerinde İş Birliği ve Çatışma Alanı Olarak Suriyeli Sığınmacılar Meselesi başlıklı çalışmaya yer verilmektedir. Zaman insanoğlu için en önemli kavramlarından biridir. E.H. Carr’ın belirttiği gibi geçmiş ile bugün arasında kesintisiz bir iletişim mevcuttur. Dolayısıyla insan ve toplumun geçmiş ve bugün arasında maddi, manevi bağı kaçınılmazdır. Geçmişin yorumu ile günün algılanması, gelecekte olabilecekler, birbiriyle örüntü halindedir. Bu açıdan her millet kendi tarihini ve tarihi çevresini tanımak zorundadır. İlk sıralar tarih öğretimi, hükümdarların kendi idolojilerini halka benimsetme vasıtası olarak, aynı zamanda hükümdar adaylarının da eğitiminde bir disiplin aracı olarak kullanıldı. Daha sonraları klasik dillerin öğretiminde tarihten yararlanıldığı görülmektedir. 16. yüzyıldan itibaren dini metinlerin, tarihsel çerçevede daha iyi kavranabilmesi için tarih çalışmalarının kullanıldığı görülmektedir. Tarih çalışmaları, Descartes ve Bacon’un bilimde metodun altını çizmeleriyle güç buldu. Vico ve Montesquieu ile başlayan ilmi ilerleme tarih felsefesi kuramcılarının çalışmalarına yansıdı ve tarih 19. yüzyıldan itibaren bilim dalları arasında yerini aldı. Türkiye’de modern tarih çalışmalarının temeli, cumhuriyetin ilanından sonra Mustafa Kemal Atatürk tarafından atıldı. Osmanlı Devleti zamanında tarih çalışmaları, ağırlıklı olarak ümmetçi tarih anlayışı doğrultusunda hazırlanmaktaydı. Tanzimat Fermanı’nın ilanıyla birlikte Osmanlı tarihi çalışmalarına, II. Meşrutiyet’in ilanından sonra ulusçu tarih çalışmalarına ağırlık verildiği görülmektedir. Dönemin şartları gereği çalışmalar yeterince bilimsel hazırlanmamıştır. Cumhuriyetin ilanıyla birlikte dil ve tarih çalışmaları ulusal hedefler doğrultusunda hazırlanmıştır. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Türk tarihinin dünya medeniyetine önemli katkısının ve çok eski çağları kapsayan zengin bir geçmişi olduğunun altını çizerek, Türk tarihi ile ilgili yanlış iddiaların ispatlanması açısından objektif ve bilimsel metod uygulanarak, belgelere dayalı ulusal tarih çalışmalarına ağırlık verilmesi gerektiğini her fırsatta belirtmiştir. Cumhuriyetin ilk yılları inkılapların halka benimsetilmesine ağırlık verildiği için tarih çalışmalarına 1928 yılı itibariyle ağırlık verilmiştir. Türk Ocaklarının 6. Kurultayında “Türk Tarih Heyeti ” kurulmuştur. Atatürk’ün de içinde olduğu bu heyet toplamda sekiz toplantı gerçekleştirmiş, Türk Ocaklarının kapatılması üzerine Atatürk’ün yönergesiyle "Türk Tarihi Tetkik Cemiyeti" kurulmuştur.
