Cadastral GIS

What are the benefits of implementing a Geographic Information System in the Cadastral workflow in Romania? Almost all local authorized surveyors and firms are somehow involved in Cadastre, doing their jobs with different levels of technology. What we introduce here is a Cadastral software and technology that offers benefits for all the factors activating in the Land Registration process, by organizing cadastral information starting from an Administrative Territorial level to parcel level (and not vice versa) using a GIS approach, that makes it easier to organize data and spot out missing information and material errors in documents and map data.

The Evaluation of CloudCompare Software in the Process of TLS Point Clouds Registration

Terrestrial laser scanner (TLS) is a wide used technique to record objects, especially buildings. Multiple scans are required in order to measure a large object, the process of bringing in coincidence the resulted point clouds being necessary. This is the first and the most important step in the process of the 3D model creation, therefore the registration process should be as accurate as possible. Different methods are mentioned in literature for registration, most of them using common features like points, lines, planes, spheres, automatically or manually measured within the point clouds. In this paper, the tie point-based registration approach for TLS point clouds implemented in “CloudCompare” software was evaluated in terms of accuracy. To obtain the results, two TLS point clouds were used and five point pairs were manually chosen and measured. The estimation of the registration parameters of two point clouds was made by using 3D conformal transformation and the least squares methods.

Determination Altitudes using ROMPOS

Determination altitudes is a problem that cannot be perfect resolved because correlation between altitude and gravity. Determining of the (quasi) geoid disturbance is still a provisionally resolved problem in Romania and is in the attention of specialists. Currently ANCPI by ROMPOS service is providing this data. In the study presented shows that the determining altitudes is not punctual computed but by calculation to the reference station. Hence differences in the absolute altitude for the same point; determined from two different reference stations.

Solutions for Geodetic Data Interconnection Between Romania and Bulgaria

This article aims to make a brief description of the work done to realize the interconnection for the coordinate and projection systems between Romania and Bulgaria. This has emerged as a necessity, because in the Danube basin, which belongs to Romanian sector, coexist more hydrometric systems, projection systems and reference ellipsoids. In order to ease the measurements, the determinations, the topo-geodetic maps and the hydrographical work is aimed to interconnect in a unitary system that meets the requirements of both countries. This study was conducted within the project "Set up of a support system for hydrographical works on the Danube in order to ensure minimal navigation depths (BORD)", whose beneficiary is AFDJ (Galati Lower Danube River Administration, A.A.).

Structural Design for Embankment Dam Bottom-Discharge Conduit. Case Study

The article refers to the calculation of bottom-discharge conduits used in locally sourced dams. In such cases, the foundation terrain is usually elastic. The conduits themselves have either a circular or polygonal cross-section and are made up of reinforced concrete. The length of the conduit is split into sections that are joined together with sealant tape. The article showcases the calculation for the Ibaneasa dam bottom-discharge conduit using the finite element method. There are two scenarios being considered: one in which the conduit is split up into several shorter sections, and one in which only two sections are taken into account – one upstream and one downstream on the dam, with the two being joined in the dam’s axis. The bending momentum is smaller when the number of sections is greater (and their size is diminished).

Land Measurements in Residential Construction Engineering in The Context of Changing the Law 10/1995 on Construction Quality

Track changes imposed by amending Law 10 on construction quality by Law 177/2015, residential buildings with reduced height (P + 1) are subject to the general rules on quality assurance in construction. This requires the preparation of the technical design verified by law, the execution is mandatory supervised by the technical manager and project supervisor certified by categories of skills. Sensitive execution stages: teaching and landmarks site levelling, excavation for foundations, marking and redrawing, check the verticality and horizontality as the case of structural elements; slopes for sewers and surface platforms can be addressed with great fidelity by using high technology in the field of terrestrial measurements while the specification contains details in this regard.

Modelling the Urban Surface Water in the Westerlo. Case Study

Over the past century urbanization has increased even if it has known to have several negative impacts towards hydrological cycle due to decreasing of pervious area and deterioration of water quality in storm water runoff. One of the most serious negative impacts of urbanization is the congestion of the storm water drainage system and this situation leading to flash flood problem and water quality degradation. Hence, high accuracy models are required for informed decision making in urban ﬂood management. The study analyses several GIS layers such as high resolution and accuracy raster, land use (buildings, streets, green areas etc.) This paper demonstrated application of the above breakthrough modelling methodology of surface flow under pluvial flooding conditions in urban areas. The primary objective of the study was to develop a document to be used as guidance for eliminating or reducing flooding within the area in consideration of health and safety.

Analiza osiadania wybranych typów znaków osnowy geodezyjnej

The paper presents the studies of the possible causes of the excessive settlement of geodetic benchmarks. For the purpose of the study, two types of ground benchmarks (type 75a and b) were selected. The computational analysis was carried out on benchmarks situated in different soil conditions and under two variants of load. The parameters were modified in order to reach the interaction between the subsoil and the structure, which is the closest to the actual conditions. Obtained results were compared with the settlement noted in Kętrzyn district, during heights frame transformation from Kronsztadt’60 to Kronsztadt’86. As a result, possible change of heights of geodetic points between land surveying campaigns (circa 20 years) could be estimated.

Lubelszczyzna rocks in the construction and architecture of the region – glaukonityte

The paper, intended as the first one in the cycle discussing Lubelszczyzna's rock materials and mineral raw materials used in construction, architecture and other engineering and technological enterprises in the course of history, looks into glauconite. This characteristic green rock is relatively unknown to the public, rarely mentioned in petrography and rock raw materials handbooks. The rock first appeared in architecture probably only in Chełm Land in 13th century and was used in the 1st phase of the construction of the capital of Chełm. Later, it was no longer in use, and its locations and places of sourcing became quite forgotten. From glauconite large-scale blocks could be produced as well as quite pronounced reliefs and complex compositions. It enabled the implementation of the ideological assumptions of the first Romanesque stone buildings between the Vistula and the Bug Rivers and, moreover, directly in the mature style of the Pisan School of 13th century. A petrographic and material analysis of this unique stone as well as the remains of its deposits make it possible to approximately locate the historical mining sites of glauconite and other areas where it occurred. On the basis of the accessible architectural and other structures as well as tools, a preliminary reconstruction of the stone workshop and architecture of the 13th century sacral-residential complexes of Wysoka Górka in Chełm can be performed.

Właściwości psychochemiczne i mechaniczne wybranych gruntów spoistych Lubelszczyzny do zastosowań hydroizolacyjnych

In this paper preliminary characteristics of selected cohesive soils of Lublin region that can be used in waterproofing applications in geotechnics and constructions is presented. The investigations and analysis were made according to the applicability criteria of materials used as mineral waterproofing barriers which have been elaborated in the last years in Institute of Building Techniques. On the basis of petrographical, mineral, filtering, structural and mechanical properties, the usability of slits from Bychawa and Łążek Ordynacki and powdery clay from Markowicze was confirmed, whereas glauconitic clay from Gawłówka did not meet all the criteria. The study has shown that a great number of parameters that determine the usability criteria, are resulting from petrography and mineralogy of the soils. A perfect suitable soil for that purpose has not been found, but a complementation of parameters in particular types of soils has been detected. This result gives a possibility to obtain composite materials (multilayered and homogenized).

Znaczenie efektywnych wartości parametrów gruntu w określaniu nośności podłoża spoistego

The paper presents the analysis of the bearing capacity of cohesive soils, which was calculated based on the PN-EN-1997-1 methodology. This computations take into account the effect of pore water pressure on the soil strength parameters. The parameters for calculating the strength of the soil can be determined by direct tests (triaxial apparatus) or by indirect methods. Used in the previous norm PN-81/B-03020 correlations of physical parameters and strength parameters relate to the total stress. They do not include, what part of the stress is carried by an increase the pore water pressure, and what part acts on the soil skeleton. The problem of dispersion efficiency of excessive the pore water pressure during load relates in particular the soils with the fine particle sizes - cohesive soils. There is no defined dependencies, which can be used in indirect determining the bearing capacity of cohesive substrate according to PN-EN-1997-1.

Identyfikacja lokalnych gruntów organicznych na podstawie wyników badan sondą statyczną CPT

This paper presents the results of attempts to identify organic soils on the basis of test results performed under in situ conditions by cone penetration testing (CPT). The results of 439 selected tests were analysed which reflected the behaviour of local organic soils of organic matter ranging from 6,3 to 17,4%. Crucial to soil investigation were values measured of cone resistance (qc) and sleeve friction (fs) and the friction ratio (Rf) estimated according to those values. To identify organic soils, selected criteria were used, proposed among others by: Mayne, Marr, Bergmann, Schmertmann, Capanella and Robertson [2,5]. An analysis showed that an identification of organic soil types in terms of the present classification of standards, in view of the criteria used, is ambiguous and does not allow to identify them precisely by CPT.

Moduł sprężystości betonów z kruszywami łamanymi z polskich i ukraińskich skał magmowych

Test results concern modulus of elasticity and compressive strength of ordinary concretes made of various coarse aggregates from igneous rocks. Test results of some properties of these aggregates (3 crushed granites, 3 basalts, granodiorite, natural gravel) are also considered. The variable factor of the studies is the type of coarse aggregate. According to the analyses of regression and correlation there occurs a significant effect of the aggregate grinding ratio on the modulus of elasticity of concretes contrary to insignificant effect of the compressive strength. The modulus of elasticity of 4 concretes from Polish and Ukrainian granites and basalt aggregates is lower than respective standard values of the modulus.
