World of great working possibilities with all the types of digital information in all sciences and arts is being opened by computerization in the sphere of knowledge. Current information and communication systems receive, information processing and transmit information in the form of digital signals. Communication process of information into digital information system is named digitization. Information and communication systems dispose of digital information saved in electronic data bases. Systems of identifiers allow targeted information retrieval. DOI (Digital Object Identifier) is one of the most popular identifiers. It's used for identification of digital objects. DOI can be used for every type of intellectual property (physical, digital or abstract) which is named entity or object. The collection of manuscripts at the Cistercian library in Szczyrzyc amounts to 100 volumes, including four medieval codices dated between 1460–1494; 12 manuscript books dated to the 17th century; 57 dated to the 18th century, and 27 manuscripts dated to the 19th century. Most of them are textbooks, copies of theological, philosophical and legal treatises, works on rhetoric, liturgy, world history, mathematics and herbal medicine, as well as books of homilies for special occasions and feasts. The collection of manuscripts at the monastery in Szczyrzyc is mostly a functional one – it was used by the monks to study and broaden their philosophical, theological, legal and liturgical knowledge. Several codices contain the texts of homilies delivered at various churches on feast days and solemnities, written down by the monks of Szczyrzyc. The surviving codices are bound in simple covers made of damaged folios taken out from liturgical codices, including antiphonaries and graduals. Considering the small number of surviving books, it is difficult to discuss the interests or influences of particular authors and their works on the intellectual level of the religious community of Szczyrzyc.

The exceptional contribution of Felix Kanitz to Bulgarian scientific and cultural development is an occasion to present to Bulgarian and European public his artistic and documentary heritage, to turn again our attention to the personality and the significant achievements of the great explorer of the Balkans in the 60s and 70s of the nineteenth century. Kanitz`s imagery and literary heritage belong to the most valuable elements of our material and spiritual culture. In the prospect of association of our society to the European community Kanitz`s works should be understandably promoted in the scientific space so as to point out Felix Kanitz`s cultural contributions to Bulgaria and to better identify his relationship with both the national Bulgarian identity and the Balkans and European nations. The artistic works and literary heritage of F. Kanitz which have been preserved until today are valuable elements of the common European material and spiritual culture. The time has come for them to be presented correctly in the scientific world and through the new communication technologies to become available for the public. The Scientific Archive and the Central Library of BAS have a mutual project for specifying and broadening the knowledge about the life and work of Kanitz, and for digitalizing and publishing pages of his private archives. Subject search is a way to access document information in the catalog based on their content features. Components of subject search in the computer environment, are access points, such as classification tags, subject words, descriptors, title words. Search is done in a nowadays world via online catalogue. In 1997, IFLA developed a study “Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records”, and for bibliographic marking of records, MARC (Machine Readable Cataloging) format. To enable the subject search, the key is the document subject processing. Subject heading is made of a set or line of words, that are term designations, which as a whole, give a concise statement about the subject. Various amusements were known in Roman society. Pastimes were a feature of daily life, and their forms included various kinds of games, gambling and competitions designed to amuse and entertain during moments of leisure. One planned to present a quantitative description of the Polish literature which is thematically associated with the problems of the computerisation of libraries in Poland; to define the dynamics of its growth across the span of the last fifty years and to identify – and to provide a quantitative description thereof – of the particular problems which were the subject of the publication until the end of 2017. One applied a bibliometrical method, and the source of data for the bibliometrical analyses was constituted by the “Polish Bibliological Bibliography” (PBB). The study enabled one to determine the time when the bibliological and informatological literature saw the emergence of the first publications which are thematically associated with the problems of the automatisation of libraries and how the dynamics of the growth of the literature in this field occurred in the years 1970–2009. As far as the particular problems are concerned, one indicated only the publications devoted to online catalogues, digital libraries and the Internet in library science. The study also facilitated the identification of factors which hindered or even precluded bibliometrical analyses – the latter were necessary for the obtaining of reliable results. The work was enhanced by the elements of the analysis of the “Polish Bibliological Bibliography” in terms of its utility as a source for bibliometrical research in the problems which are discussed.
