Komputeryzacja Biblioteki Diecezjalnej w Toruniu: od MAK do NUKAT

The Diocesan Library in Toruń commenced the computerized cataloging of its collections in 2000 by using the MAK software by the National Library. The implementation of the program was aided by employees of the Provincial Public Library in Toruń. However, over ten years, only 20,000 volumes were cataloged. In 2010 cooperation was established with the University Library in Toruń. The records were converted to the MARC21 format and imported into the Horizon program. Sharing the catalog database with the university is easier for the readers, as they are able to see information about the sought-for book in the city’s various libraries by using only one catalog. Establishing cooperation with the NUKAT central catalog has also facilitated the work of the librarians, who can now download ready-to-use records from it. As a result, over 52,000 volumes were cataloged by the end of 2015. It has enabled the collections of the Diocesan Library to be presented as well.

Centralny internetowy serwis informacji katalogowej i bibliograficznej Federacji FIDES obejmuje serwer baz danych w programie MAKWWW, multiwyszukiwarkę FIDKAR oraz Księgozbiór Wirtualny (bibliotekę cyfrową) Federacji FIDES. Na jego uaktualnienie, utrzymywanie i poszerzenie federacja otrzymała z Ministerstwa Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego dofinansowanie w wysokości 12 tys. zł, przy wkładzie własnym federacji wynoszącym 4 tys. zł. Nowym ważnym elementem składowym tego serwisu stała się przede wszystkim Elektroniczna Bibliografia Nauk Teologicznych, na której uruchomienie i wzbogacenie przeznaczono w 2011 roku 10 tys. zł.

NUKAT - Narodowy Uniwersalny Katalog strona internetowa

NUKAT to Narodowy Uniwersalny Katalog Centralny polskich bibliotek naukowych, stosujących zintegrowane systemy biblioteczne. Jest to scentralizowany katalog z kontrolą opisów, tworzony metodą współkatalogowania. W momencie pisania tego artykułu 34 biblioteki, użytkujące 5 systemów zintegrowanych (Aleph, Horizon, Prolib, Vitrua, VTLS), podjęło współpracę w tym przedsięwzięciu. Zadaniem Narodowego Uniwersalnego Katalogu jest dostarczenie informacji o dokumentach wraz z miejscem przechowywania, udostępnienie katalogom lokalnym gotowych rekordów kartotek haseł wzorcowych oraz rekordów bibliograficznych, usprawnienie i przyspieszenie katalogowania zbiorów w bibliotekach polskich, eliminując dublowanie pracy.

Katalogowanie filmów

Przedmiotem niniejszego opracowania jest opis bibliograficzny filmu, który powinien być zgodny z postanowieniami normy zatytu-łowanej Opis bibliograficzny. Filmy (PN-N-01152-12:1994). Przy-pomnijmy, że przestrzeganie reguł ustalonych w normie nie jest obowiązkowe, jednak w dobie powszechnej automatyzacji katalo-gów i możliwości przejmowania gotowych opisów dokumentów z innych baz konieczne staje się stosowanie tych samych zasad opisu bibliograficznego i doboru do niego haseł, aby lokalne katalogi bi-bliotek stanowiły jednorodny zbiór danych ułatwiający ich wyszuka-nie.

Biuletyn Bibliotek Kościelnych „FIDES”

Utworzenie w 1995 r. Artykuł ten jest przypomnieniem zasad katalogowania dotyczących wyboru haseł dla opisów bibliograficznych. Starano się w nim umieścić nowe ustalenia dokonane w trakcie komputeryzacji bibliotek polskich. Jednocześnie jest porównaniem przykładowych, konkretnych haseł, stosowanych przez Bibliotekę Narodową dla potrzeb Przewodnika Bibliograficznego (PB) oraz przez Konsorcjum Bibliotek VTLSowych dla Centralnego Katalogu Haseł Wzorcowych (CKHW). Centralny Katalog Książek Bibliotek Kościelnych na CD-ROM

Federacja Bibliotek Kościelnych FIDES istnieje od 1991 roku i zrzesza ponad 60 bibliotek instytucji naukowych Kościoła katolickiego w Polsce, m.in. Bibliotekę Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, Bibliotekę Akademii Teologii Katolickiej w Warszawie. Biblioteki zrzeszone w Federacji podjęły się współpracy przy wprowadzaniu komputeryzacji w swoich bibliotekach. Używają one jednolitego formatu danych (opartego na opisie Biblioteki Narodowej - MARC-BN), a znaczna większość z nich wykorzystuje do tego komputerowy program biblioteczny MAK rozprowadzany przez Bibliotekę Narodową.

Catalogarea în regim automatizat la Biblioteca Universității „Politehnica” din Timișoara

Programul integrat de bibliotecă ALEPH achiziționat de bibliotecă în anul 1995 este structurat pe mai multe module. Primul modul implementat a fost modulul de catalogare pentru care s-au avut în vedere următoarele etape: stabilirea câmpurilor și subcâmpurilor, definirea bazelor logice, evidența automatizată a exemplarelor și tipărirea fișelor pentru titlurile catalogate. Până în prezent au fost catalogate în regim automatizat aproximativ 60000 de documente bibliografice: monografii, articole din periodice, documente electronice și au fost introduse în evidența automatizată a exemplarelor un număr de 162000 unități bibliografice.

Centralny Katalog Federacji Bibliotek Kościelnych FIDES w systemie Koha

On June 16, 2014, the Central Catalogue of Federation of the Church Libraries FIDES had been launched using Koha system. It operates on the basis of „one description – many resources” principle, with NUKAT catalogue as the source of bibliographic references, and uses both NUKAT and JHP BN authority files. The catalogues of twelve libraries have already been moved or included in the Catalogue, ten of them from the MAK system. The process of exchanging records and consolidating them is partially automated and partially computer-aided. All member libraries have undertaken cooperation, mostly active, with the NUKAT catalogue, which is the requirement for participation in the project. Participation in the central catalogue raises professional competence of librarians and affects the promotion of libraries and their collections.

In her papers from 2014 and 2016 the author showed a model of bibliographic organization of continuing resources according to IFLA models FRBR, FRAD and FRSAD and the International Cataloguing Principles of 2009.During the time span of several years, the library community witnessed the appearance of the amended edition of the International Cataloguing Principles in 2016, as well as new IFLA conceptual models: PRESSoo for continuing resources (2017) and IFLA LRM model (2017).Using the methods of analysis and comparison of articles by theoreticians of information sciences E. Jones, P. Riva, P. Le Boeuf, author’s own research and the new conceptual models, the author will address the classification and position of continuing resources in the bibliographic universe in the new context. The research results will point to the current position of continuing resources in the bibliographic universe and the creation of acceptable solutions for bibliographic organization of continuing resources.

Opracowanie materiałów w Sekcji Rękopisów Biblioteki Uniwersyteckiej w Toruniu. Zarys problematyki.

The University Library in Toruń has nearly 5 thousand inventory units of manuscripts, of which the majority consists of papers being the legacy of eminent academic staff of the Nicolaus Copernicus University. Manuscripts older than 1945 derive mainly from former German libraries, located in German Pomerania and East Prussia. Manuscripts are currently being catalogued according to three instructions, namely: Guidelines for the Preparation of Manuscripts in Polish Libraries from 1955, Guidelines for the Preparation of Archival Legacies of Scholars of 1990, and MARC 21 Format for Bibliographic and Holdings Data. Adaptation for the MAK System, Version 2008. Until the end of 2007, the Manuscripts Section used the traditional card catalogue system. The subject card catalogue has recently been scanned and is now available on the Library’s Web site. Since the beginning of 2008 cataloguing takes place in the Horizon software (MARC 21 format). The action presently absorbing vast majority of time is the retrospective cataloguing of the collection, the effect of which is to be a series of printed catalogues of manuscripts. The catalogue of medieval manuscripts has already been published, and the work on publishing the next volume presenting modern manuscripts, created before the end of the 18th century is currently underway. In the future, it is planned to include all the manuscripts, together with those in the legacy collection, in catalogue information. Some particularly important items, kept in the Manuscripts Section, have already been discussed in articles or separate chapters of monographs. For more than a decade, selected manuscripts, mainly older collections, medieval and modern, have been digitized. Scanned copies of objects are presented in the Kujawsko-Pomorska Digital Library. The copies of objects are accompanied by records created in the dLibra software – which are rather simplified descriptions, containing only basic information about manuscripts.

Stosować czy nie stosować? Oto jest pytanie. Deskryptory Biblioteki Narodowej jako propozycja zmian w opracowaniu zbiorów w opinii bibliotek państwowych wyższych szkół zawodowych w Polsce

Introduction. The aim of this article is to present the opinion of catalogue specialists workingin state libraries of Higher Vocational Schools (HVS) in Poland about descriptors of the NationalLibrary (dNL), presentation of data relating to the application of selected standards of ResourceDescription & Access (RDA) in the process of development of sets and information about thelibrary system. Material and methods. The studies were conducted in May and June of 2018.Data were prepared on the basis of a survey sent to 33 libraries of the Higher Vocational Schoolsin Poland. The answers were registered from 14 institutions (42%). Results. The majority of thelibraries which applied JHP BN currently apply dBN and have a positive opinion about them. Themajority of them apply selected standards RDA. Search in the OPAC catalogues only in severalcases is based on faceted search, whilst not all systems give such opportunity and the exchangeof software carries the burden of significant finance means. Conclusions. The results show thatlibraries, which replied to the survey are open to changes, willingly applying new standards andmaking efforts to meet the needs of users visiting them.
